Bulldogg-ed Webmaster (continued)

As many of you know, our webmaster is Jean McKillop, whom we made an honorary classmate at the 50th reunion by acclimation. One of our great talent scouts, Tappy Wilder, a lifetime summer resident of Blue Hill, Maine, discovered her in 1997. Ever since, she has patiently used her professional expertise and judgment to coach CorSecs Tappy Wilder, Al Chambers, Mike Kane, and me on web issue topics, keep track of classmate deaths to be announced on our site and in the alumni magazine, and posts the distinctive, caring obituaries written by Bob Oliver and his team. This English major and former professional librarian is a magna cum laude University of Rhode Island graduate, and her Downeast Host web firm also works with other Yale classes and senior societies, as well as nonprofit organizations, local groups, and small businesses from Maine to Hawaii. A good citizen, she also makes time to volunteer with Healing Touch and Reiki at local health centers and hospitals in Hancock and Penobscot counties.

So far, Jean has not accepted our standing invitation to attend a class gathering, but last summer Mike Kane drove to the mainland from his vacation spot in Southwest Harbor, Maine, to catch up with her in person over coffee at a cafĂ© they’re both fond of in Ellsworth, near her headquarters in Penobscot. She invites ’62-ers to email ahead, then stop by and let her put faces to the names she knows so well.

McKillop and Kane: Coffee becomes them.
